Black Myth: Wukong PC Requirements Point To Optimized UE5 Game

RTX 4070 Recommended For 4K Experience!

Story Highlight
  • Black Myth: Wukong’s system requirements have just been leaked ahead of the official reveal.
  • The game seems to be very memory-hungry, with the studio suggesting 32GB of memory for 4K resolution.
  • However, the GeForce RTX 4070 is suggested for this resolution.

Black Myth: Wukong is currently one of the most anticipated releases of the year, and it recently became the most wish-listed game on Steam. While the title is two months away from its release, pre-orders are expected to go live soon.

The system requirements for the PC port have also been leaked earlier than anticipated. Fortunately, the leaks hint that Black Myth: Wukong will not be too hard to run.

Why it matters: This Souls-like is based on Unreal Engine 5. Games based on this engine are incredibly hard to run, so these requirements are quite encouraging.

As seen above, Black Myth: Wukong recommends a GTX 1060 or RX 580 for 1080p low gameplay. While low settings are less than ideal, this hardware is so old that one can’t ask for much more.

Moving over to the 4K settings, Game Science asks for just a Core i7-9700 or Ryzen 5 5500 CPU with an RTX 4070 or RX 7800 XT. Once you enable ray tracing, this requirement goes up to the RTX 4080 Super.

However, since the RTX 4070 is barely considered an ideal GPU for 4K gaming, this could mean that the game has been optimized well. One important point to note is the memory requirement.

It seems Black Myth: Wukong will use up to 32GB when playing at 4K resolution. This would make it one of the most memory-hungry games to date.

These requirements are quite encouraging for an Unreal Engine 5 title. Recent titles like Hellblade 2 have shown that Unreal Engine 5 games are becoming more playable, so Black Myth: Wukong may set the latest example.

Recent activities have suggested that pre-orders for this Souls-like will go live soon, so fans can expect official system requirements shortly afterwards. More gameplay is also expected at Summer Game Fest later tomorrow.

Everyone seems to have high expectations for this Souls-like. Game Science has inspired a lot of confidence with recent gameplay trailers and videos, so fans are patiently waiting for the release.

Last year, this genre already benefitted from releases like Lies of P and Lords of the Fallen. Black Myth: Wukon is now shaping up to be another exciting addition to this list.
