Yakuza 0, a new entry to the franchise finally gets a release date and has been announced as a PlayStation 4 exclusive game.

Yakuza 0 is a prequel to the previous games released in the series, set in the year 1988. Several months ago during December last year, it was rumored that the game will only be released in western countries, but that didn’t happen.

The game features a replaceable combat style and according to the publisher, Goro Majima will be featured as a playable character for the first time in the series. He will be given some new fighting style and abilities. Furthermore, there will be English subtitles in the game with Japanese voice in the game. The players will be completing one of the most difficult tasks given by the superiors so they can re-join the Yakuza clan from they were ousted.

The game is set for launch on January 24th, 2017 for PlayStation 4. Last year, Sega confirmed that the new addition in the franchise, Yakuza 6 is under development for PlayStation 4, while the first installment in the series will also be getting a remastered edition for the said console.
