Xiaomi today announced the launch of Black Shark Helo, the second generation of Xiaomi gaming smartphone that replaces the IPS panel with an AMOLED of 6.01 inches with a Full HD + resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels, although all with a refresh rate of 60 Hz, thus staying below 90 Hz of Asus ROG Phone and 120 Hz of Razer Phone 2.

Unsurprisingly, it employs the Snapdragon 845 paired with 6GB / 8GB of RAM memory with 128GB of storage, or the top-of-the-range model, with an unneeded and underutilized 10GB of RAM along with 256GB of storage, which it is not mentioned if it is expandable or not. In terms of battery timing, we have a 4000 mAh capacity battery with Quick Charge 3.0 quick charge technology.

Knowing that Xiaomi Black Shark Helo is for gaming, the company improved its cooling system, now using two small copper heatpipes with a Steam Chamber design, and not with the liquid cooling they claim to have (sounds much nicer like that, of course). This translates into copper heatpipes with copper filaments inside and a coolant that will create a circuit as it evaporates, condenses and returns to the circuit.

The information of the Xiaomi Black Shark Helo is completed with a configuration of dual rear camera of 12 + 20 megapixels, front camera of 20 MP, an RGB LED lighting system on the sides and logo, dual front speaker, the Game Studio application to create “Gaming profiles”, a dedicated Pixelworks chip to convert SDR content to HDR thanks to being compatible with HDR10 content.

Xiaomi Black Shark Helo will go on sale in China at a local price to change 400 euros (6GB / 128GB) and 439 euros (8GB / 128GB). The price of the 10 GB RAM model was not announced.
