The latest news is coming from the LinkedIn account of Senior Manager of SOC from AMD. Daniel McConnell throws a good news for the players who are willing to buy Microsoft Console but due to its price their pocket doesn’t allow them.  According to Daniel McConnell, AMD has developed a smaller and more cost effective 20nm version of the core processor that is found in Microsoft’s Xbox One.

I (Daniel) successfully planned and executed the first APU for Microsoft’s Xbox One Game Console in 28nm technology and a cost-reduced derivative in 20nm technology.

If we see from the current stage both current Generation consoles are equipped with 28nm technology processor, if this new chip would be implemented in the XBox One then its size will be smaller and also it will effect on the price as mentioned by Daniel McConnell. If we see the view of TSMC, which is responsible for designing both the  Processors of current Generation Consoles they said that, this new 20nm version processor will bump the speed up to 30% then now also less power consumption around 25%.

Both PS4 and XBox One are using the processing Chip from AMD side and this shrinking down the processor will also open up the doors for slimmer versions and price cuts for the consoles, and both can earn good amount of revenue. Let’s hope for the best.
