For past few years, Microsoft has discussed the keyboard and mouse support for its Xbox One console and how it can change the console gaming to another level.

Good news for the Xbox One gamers as the support for keyboard and mouse is almost here and by next month, we will be playing majority of new titles on the console with a completely different method (if supported). With this development, game developers can add the support for these additional devices on their upcoming titles or will need to release a patch to enable functionality of keyboard and mouse on existing games.

Its totally up to the game developers if they want to add the support for these devices and if they don’t bring work on the update, players will have to stick to the controller. The keyboard and mouse gaming is usually preferred for shooting games to get accurate aiming and indeed, it would be a great option to have mouse by your side for titles such as Call of Duty and Battlefield.

Microsoft entered into agreement with Razor, famous gaming device manufacturer to bring this support on Xbox One console and the recent statement of Microsoft states that this support is entirely based on the decision of game developers.

“For all other titles, nothing changes. Mouse and keyboard input is not enabled by default for games. Each development team knows their titles best and we support them in creating the right experience for their games as they see fit, to ensure an optimal and fair gaming experience.”
