The debut of next motherboards in the market with USB 3.1 ports should appear soon. The Windows 10 will provide full support for the new interface, and the details on this topic will be discussed at the upcoming conference from Microsoft side namely WinHEC (Windows Hardware Engineering Community).
Windows 10 with full support for USB 3.1
USB 3.1 provides higher bandwidth – 10Gb / s instead of 5Gb / s USB 3.0. In addition, it introduces a new type C connector and the USB function Dual Role – so it is possible to connect other peripherals, eg. the monitor. USB 3.1 also offers the Power Delivery, where it is possible to power devices with power consumption up to 100W.
Conference WinHEC (Windows Hardware Engineering Community) will be held on 18-19 March, and they will present peripheral device manufacturers, developers and customers complete solutions. Some of the topics of the conference will be on a new type of USB connection in Windows 10, which will be discussed new features of USB 3.1, use the alternate mode (DisplayPort, Thunderbolt and MHL), as well as support for the Power Delivery. At this conference, Microsoft will also discuss development issues.
