After being fed the rules, the AI was able to use its opponent’s plays to refine its own strategy. That was hailed as a significant step in AI and, subsequently, its place in gaming. This desire to create bots that can beat games has since filtered down to the lower levels of the industry. What does all of this mean for gaming? Well, it could be that gamers of the future won’t be humans anymore. If bots can play on their own, why would humans get involved? Overall, the advent of AI in gaming is a huge positive. Not only will it make games better, it will make players better.
