Today the independent developer Fatshark has announced the development of Warhammer: End Times Vermintide, a combat game and cooperative person FPS set in The End Times of an iconic universe of Warhammer Fantasy. Vermintide is scheduled for release in the second half of 2015 for Windows PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

In Vermintide, Ubersreik city is under siege and players will need to select a band of five heroes with different play styles and abilities, all equipped with weapons and unique personalities. Working cooperatively, players must use their individual attributes to survive an apocalyptic invasion of hordes of Skaven and insatiable thirst for power in a range of scenarios, ranging from the top of the Magnus Tower to the bowels of the Underground Empire.

“Combining the visceral combat with cooperative multiplayer action, Vermintide offer players a whole new perspective on the universe of Warhammer Fantasy getting skin heroes they play with,” said Martin Wahlund, president of Fatshark. “Staying true to the fantastic background, with enemies and familiar locations, we hope to win the hearts of enthusiasts and newcomers to the game with this new chapter in the history of Warhammer”.

The time of the fatal ends and the Reign of Chaos is becoming closer. The dark gods have come together for a singular purpose and unleashed his madness around the world like never before. In the Empire of Sigmar, Karl Franz’s gaze is focused on the incursion of wild north, but is not the only threat. As Morrslieb Chaos moon grows full moon, shrill voices echoing in the tunnels beneath cities of the Empire and a horde of Skaven comes to the surface. First emerging in the city of Ubersreik as if they were a wild mass that consumes everything. Soon Ubersreik a desolate city is crumbling under the malevolent shadow of the Horned Rat.

But even in the darkest times, there is always shining champions enter the darkness. While Ubersreik cowers, five heroes united by a capricious fate rise to fight ratmen. Now it remains to see if they have the strength to survive and are able to stay together to expel the invaders. However, the truth is clear: if the five fall defeated, Ubersreik fall with them.
