Not long ago, I wrote an article which stated that the ACX 3.0 editions of the E.V.G.A GeForce GTX 1070 & 1080 were catching literal flames. The root of this issue lies within ACX 3.0 cards which are very susceptible to overheating. This is due to a design oversight which left them without adequate. The extreme heat discharged from their VRMs is what had them catch flames and ultimately, lead the GPU to end up dead.

GeForce GTX 1080 Burns(Video)

The owner of the video had stated that his machine was working flawlessly for a month before this ill-fated incident occured. He said that once he returned home and attempted to turn his PC on, it would not. This caused him to test the parts one at a time and then came the turn of this GPU which burned up a couple of seconds after the boot up. Luckily he had recorded this on camera. (Wccftech)

Note: This issue is ony occuring with the custom variants of the EVGA GTX 1080 except for the Classified ones. No other custom GTX 1080 is catching flames the rest are safe
