The visual artist of The Witcher 3 Wild hunt, Jose Teixeira during the Gamescom 2014 had the opportunity to talk about the resolution of the console versions of the game. Indeed, in all likelihood, the third chapter of the saga of Geralt of Rivia may not reach the 1080p resolution on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The Witcher 3 WILD HUNT – No 1080p for PS4 and XBox One in all probability

Teixeria revealed that the team is able to bring it to 1080p on both machines, but currently seems to be no intention of doing this because it would be the risk of optimization problems of games and for this reason the team of  CD Projekt RED is to ensure a stable frame rate to 30 FPS, rather than a resolution of 1080p but with lag full and unstable Gameplay.

Ultimately, if they have to choose between steady 30FPS and 1080P, then I fully agree about getting a smooth frame rate first and foremost. We then also inquired about NVIDIA’s PhysX, trying to understand if this will be available on AMD hardware as well.

Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is expected by February 24 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
