It is safe to say that The Last of Us 2 is in production phase after the discovery of Michael Knowland’s LinkedIn profile.

After playing the massively successful game, “The Last of Us”, an action-adventure horror survival game available on PS3 and PS4, gamers are eagerly waiting for its sequel. And we’ve some good news for you! We’ve recently discovered the LinkedIn profile of a former developer, which removes any space for doubts.

Michael Knowland, currently Senior Character Artist at Avalanche Studios, formerly the Lead Character Artist at Naughty Dogs, has mentioned in this profile about the 1-month prototyping head sculpts of The Last of Us 2.

A piece of Michael Knowland’s LinkedIn profile:

Lead Character Artist

Naughty Dog

October 2011 – April 2014 (2 years 7 months)

The Last of Us – all things main and NPC characters.

Uncharted 4 – working on main character Nathan Drake to upgrade the face sculpt, hair (geometry/texturing/shading), facial hair, rigging topology, skin textures and arm/hand details.

The Last of Us 2 – 1 month prototyping head sculpts.

Keeping this in mind, we can undoubtedly say that the game is in production. The expectations for this underdevelopment game are naturally much higher than the previous one — with the advancement in technologies and better resources, gamers expect much more than better visuals.
