NVIDIA president, presenting 20 nm ARM architecture processor Tegra X1, clearly stressed that smartphones will not see Tegra X1, and also stated that the new solution is for car information and multimedia systems.

Tegra X1 Left Nothing For Rivals In AnTuTu Benchmarks:

Despite the car destination, Tegra X1 nevertheless proved continuing AnTuTu package database, writes page VR-Zone. Here Nvidia’s flagship collected 74,977 points. An unnamed platform was used, which has a screen bearing 4K (3840 х 2160) resolution.

For comparison: the reference tablet with Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 and at a resolution of 2560 х 1600 scores 63,351, Galaxy S6 showed a similar level of productivity with 14 nm processor Samsung Exynos Octa 7.

Smartphones with Snapdragon 810 exhibits good scores too. For example, the LG G Flex 2 with Full HD (1920 x 1080) display in the same version of AnTuTu collected 48,144 points. But these scores stands no where in front of Tegra X1.

Tegra X1 speed results show that Maxwell graphics subsystem that will use 20 nm Nvidia processor is significantly ahead of its competitors. Alas! Tegra X1 is not coming to smartphones, may some heat issues or some marketing strategy.
