While Microsoft decided not to talk about sales of its console, Sony continues to draw chest, as in its latest financial report, pertaining to the fourth quarter of 2015, the company announced that it has sold no less than 8.4 million PlayStation 4 consoles. The company said it now expects to sell 17.5 million of PlayStation 4 in the current year.

We are so grateful for the enormous support from PlayStation fans worldwide, and we are truly humbled that gamers around the globe have continued to select PlayStation 4 as the best place to play,” said Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Andrew House.

Earlier this year, Sony officially announced it had sold over 36 million consoles, while industry sources announced that Microsoft had accumulated already about 20 million consoles sold, a noticeable difference that continues to grow with the passage of time and it is inevitable that the PlayStation 4 gets double sales of its rival.

Without doubt, the PlayStation 4 was the favorite console in Christmas, it offers a far more attractive price being 50 euros cheaper and including a pair of games, which has increased from a handful of exclusive games for 2016 with their virtual reality goggles PlayStation VR.
