Lately, during Game Developers Conference which is currently being held in San Francisco, California, Sony finally announced the price of its PlayStation VR headset, which is under development for a long time and was expected to be released some where in Fall 2016.
Sony Reveals PlayStation VR Price, Releasing in October
The PlayStation VR costs around $399 in the U.S, €399 in Europe, £349 in U.K and yen 44,980 in Japan while the headset is confirmed for release sometime in the month of October this year.
The price of PSVR is $200 less than the Oculus Rift, which is scheduled for release in late March and $400 less than HTC Vive, which will release somewhere in April with two wireless controllers. The PlayStation VR definitely enjoys the edge of having lesser price as compared with other VR headsets.
Sony’s President Andrew House also stated that the virtual reality supported media player will be released along with the launch of VR headset. Moreover, around fifty games will be released from October till the end of 2016. The company is working with 230 developers such as Electronic Arts, 2K Games, and Ubisoft which is indeed a good news for PlayStation 4 owners.
For using the PlayStation VR, the PS4 owners will need a PlayStation Camera, which costs $60 and will be purchased separately as it doesn’t comes with the box. Pre-orders for the headset are available from now.
