Storage Drive maker Seagate has dispatched an external HDD in the nick of time for CES 2015.

Meet the “Seven HDD”, it’s the world’s slimmest external HDD as indicated by Seagate you can say slightly thicker than Apple’s Flagship iPhone 6.

The drive is only 5mm thick, 500GB version that is encased in a super-thin 2mm stainless steel fenced in area that is molded exactly same according the HDD shape.

Seagate’s Seven specs, however, are mid-range: USB 3.0, SATA 6gb/s. 5400rpm, providing only 16MB cache, power consumption is 1.4w at peak, it comes with two year warranty.

It’s very interesting to see Seagate bringing up a lot of new innovation previously, we saw Seagate 8 TB Archive HDD in budget friendly price tag of $260 utilizing a new tech called SMR.

Seagate’s Seven HDD will his shelves of US later this month with a price tag of $99.99. Global availability is currently on hold, we have no idea why?. It’s going thin, thinner and thinnest at CES 2015. Stay tuned for more updates.
