Samsung Electronics today announced the launch of its two new high-end M.2 PCIe SSDs for the consumer market. The new Samsung 960 PRO and Samsung 960 EVO, both units come in a M.2 format to provide maximum V- NAND memory performance with the Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe) technology.
Samsung M.2 SSDs: 960 EVO and 960 EVO Pro Officially Launched
Samsung 960 PRO
The Samsung 960 PRO is the flagship model and it will be available in capacities of 512GB, 1TB and 2TB. These units use the best memory to deliver professional grade performance and high durability with sequential speeds of A-level result in up to 3,500 MB / s for reading and up to 2,100 MB / s in writing. The 2 TB model offers a lifetime of up to 1.2 Petabytes of written information with the use of Dynamic Thermal Guard technology to manage performance levels and avoid overheating of the unit. Its starting price would be around 330 euros and offer a 5 year warranty.
Samsung 960 EVO
The Samsung 960 EVO is simply the little brother, available in three models of 250 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB of capacity with a sequential speed reaching up to 3,200 MB / s in reading and up to 1,900 MB / s in the writing by using a PCI-Express 3.0 x4 interface and be the first product to integrate Samsung Intelligent TurboWrite technology to increase performance. The 1TB model has a lifespan of 400 TB by written per year, make use of Dynamic Thermal Guard technology to prevent overheating problems. Samsung 960 EVO backed by a warranty of three years.
