While AMD announced the 3rd Generation of Ryzen Threadripper CPUs on November 5, the specifications and price of not only the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3980X, but the company’s flagship processor for the high-performance platform (HEDT) the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X were disclosed. 

At present, we can only find AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960, a 24-core and 48-wire processing processor at a Base / Turbo frequency of 3.80 / 4.50 GHz under the Zen2 @ 7nm microarchitecture with a TDP of 280W, at a price of 1539 euros for sale; and older brother, the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X with 32 cores and 64 threads @ 3.70 / 4.50 GHz with a TDP of 280W for 2189 euros.

Now we know that the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3980X with alleged specificatioons of 48 cores and 96 processing threads, a TDP of 280W would go on sale at a price of 20,000 yuan, which translates into about 2,560 euros, while it is indicated that the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X with 64 cores and 128 threads maintaining the TDP of 280W would go for around 30,000 yuan, about 3,835 euros.

In addition to the fact that the operating frequencies have not yet been revealed, there is no release date, and AMD limited itself to indicating that they would arrive sometime in the first quarter of 2020.
