Previously we have seen that, President of Samsung’s semiconductor business, Kim Ki-Nam has announced that Samsung Electronics has started producing chips on 14nm FinFET process. Meaning that the process has begun to contract manufacturing for someone. Now there are lots of rumors pointing that it would be Apple. The latest smartphones and tablets of the company  Apple does not complain about the lack of computing power in being a big thanks to the Apple A8 processors. Next year, Apple will offer new products under their logo, however, the successor – Apple A9 which is based on 14nm FinFET process will do the job and most probably iPhone 6s and their Next Generation Smart watches will take advantage from 14nm process. And guess who is doing the job?

Yes, as the title suggests it will be Samsung, in theory the biggest rival of Apple. The Korean manufacturer has apparently slowly starts to work on the processor. Even more interesting is that the new system can be created using the new technological process – 14nm FinFET. 14nm Process FinFET will reduce the power consumption by 35% and 20% performance increment, the core area is also reduced by 15%.

The first copies of the new processor have reportedly reached for Apple. Mass production is to move in the second quarter of next year, as Samsung has to take care of other companies as well.
