During the PlayStation 5 launch event, Capcom announced the already rumored Resident Evil 8: VILLAGE, which will hit the PlayStation 5, as well as PC platform via Steam and Xbox Series X, in 2021.

Setting a few years after Resident Evil 7 biohazard, Ethan Winters and his wife, Mia, seem to have finally found peace after the horrifying events they had to go through in the Baker plantation house. Despite having his past behind him, a surprising but familiar face returns in the form of Chris Redfield, whose traumatic actions will cause Ethan to end up in a mysterious snow-covered village. »

It was previously claimed that Resident Evil 8: VILLAGE would feature many narrative and mechanical departures for the series, including hallucination and insanity segments, as well as enemies based on mythical creatures such as Werewolves.
