Resident Evil 7 resembles a resurrection for the establishment. After Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 took the series into a more action situated direction, Resident Evil 7 is by all accounts returning Resident Evil back to its survival horror roots. It seems, the next Resident Evil 7 vary the frequency of save points in the game depending on the difficulty level chosen by the player.
Resident Evil 7 Will Have Variable Saving System Depending On Difficulty
After the last two Resident Evil titles focused primarily on action, the staunchest fans of the series will be pleased to know that the new Resident Evil 7 returning Resident Evil series back to its “survival horror” theme which was always present in the franchise since its first deliveries. Proof of this is the new mechanics which will greatly influence the gameplay experience.
As indicated by the Game producer Masochika Kawata in a recent interview about Resident Evil 7, apart from the variable saving system game, the story will not be divided into chapters. At this point, Kawata explained:
“The game is a linear experience, meaning not that there’s only one way through, rather it takes place in a linear timeline, so it’s not divided into chapters,” he said. “However, as far as saving is concerned, there’s an auto-save system, so if you die you can restart not as far back. There will also be rooms to act as manual save points. Just to note, depending on the difficulty situation that you choose, the saving system also varies. If you choose a harder difficulty, the saving system won’t be so nice to you.”
As a result, again the sense of survival and constant threat will be present in this new release. According to the Kawata itself these changes are intended so they will become more attentive to the surroundings. He also mentioned that if the player dies, there will be some sort of auto-saving that will allow reappear near where he was at that time.
Resident Evil 7 will be released on January 24, 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
