Confirming the rumors, Capcom officially announced Resident Evil 7 during the Sony conference at E3 2016. The trailer shows the protagonist alone in an abandoned house, which is never a good sign.

Resident Evil 7 is officially announced for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC

Resident Evil 7 is built on a new engine (the RE Engine). The demo, “Resident Evil 7 Teaser: Beginning Hour ” will be available today exclusively to subscribers of PS Plus.

You can pre-order it through PS Store, if you pre-order the game you will also get the dynamic theme of Resident Evil 7 for PS4. Players who pre-order the Standard Edition or Digital Deluxe edition of the game will also receive the Survival Pack, which includes the highest difficulty of unlocking the game without the usual prerequisites and also a special item when the game will be released.

The pre-order for Xbox One and PC will be available soon.

During the press conference Sony has also announced that the game will be fully compatible with PlayStation VR! 

Resident Evil 7 will be released on January 24, 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
