Resident Evil, a famous horror-survival game franchise from Capcom in the history got its most recent release earlier this week on Tuesday, the Resident Evil 7 Biohazard.

All the hype among the series fans turned in the favor of Capcom and Resident Evil 7 with resulting over 2.5 million units being sold across the world. Apparently, the latest entry in the franchise brings back all the hopes and expectations of the fans who were disappointed by the previous recent entries in the franchise.

According to Capcom, the demo is also doing good by having more than 7.15 million downloads on all the platforms, making a record for the series. Also, this is the first installment in the RE franchise with first person mode, as compared to the previous installments having traditional third person mode.

Capcom today released an official press release related to the game’s total units crossing 2.5 million.

RESIDENT EVIL 7  is the latest installment, and builds upon the series’ roots of fear, exploration and tense atmosphere. The full game is also available to play via the included optional PlayStation®VR Mode for the PS4 version. In order to provide an overwhelming, deeply immersive horror experience, the game’s system underwent a dramatic shift from its previous third-person camera to a new first-person perspective.

As a result, the title garnered attention worldwide, with the demo version exceeding 7.15 million downloads—a record for the series—and the game selling more than 2.5 million units.

Resident Evil 7 Biohazard is now available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One and the campaign mode is around 10 hour long according to the developers, but one speedrunner reportedly completed the game in less than 2 hours. Stay tuned for more updates!
