After being rumored for months, the Red Dead Redemption 2 was finally revealed last month by Rockstar Games. Official reveal announcement was made after two days when the studio teased the game with two posters on the social forums without mentioning anything.

Announcement of the Red Dead Redemption 2 sparked hype among the fans who were eagerly waiting for the sequel which is due during Fall next year. The first trailer was released that didn’t reveal more information about the game’s storyline, but today during the MKM event while speaking with the GameSpot, Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick revealed that the announcement trailer of the sequel turned out to be more popular than expected.

He further stated that the game will offer an ‘optimistic view‘ of America and believes that it is the right time to release the sequel. He said;

“We took a different point of view, which is that very occasionally westerns capture the imagination of the public. When we launched Red Dead, it did. And those times were right for that. And I think the times are right for a big, sprawling, optimistic view of America again–and that’s not meant to be cute.”

Furthermore, he also noted that the game will have “incredible emotional depth“, with players can expect great story elements and gameplay elements.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is under development by Rockstar Games and is scheduled for release during Fall 2017 for PS4 and Xbox One. Unfortunately, the game isn’t confirmed for the PC platform yet, just like the previous installment to the franchise due to which most of the gamers are disappointed and wants the studio to port the game for the PC as well.
