Do modern day gamers really love multiplayer shooter more than the single player mode? Are we seeing upcoming shooters without a single player mode? Apparently, the things seems to be going that way!
This is the fourth video game from the shooting category without a single player mode. After the Titanfall, Evolve, then Star Wars Battlefront and now Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six: Siege has been confirmed to come without a story mode as according to the development team, the game is especially focused for the multiplayer only.
Speaking at EGX 2015, game’s art director Scott Mitchell told us regarding the ‘contents’ of single player mode included in the game,
“There is no story mode per se. You go through training, where you get to experience different operators and their devices. You can play against enemy AI in co-op through all the maps. You can customize matches, so that’s what we’re offering on the single-player side of things”
Then a fresh statement was issued by Ubisoft regarding the case, stating;
“The creative vision for Rainbow Six Siege has always been strongly focused on a compelling cooperative and multiplayer experience. The game supports solo play when playing Terrorist Hunt offline & online and we will provide further details on single-player content in the near future.”
This is indeed a disappointing point for Rainbow Six franchise lovers as well as for those single player lovers who had been playing the previous games and were eagerly waiting for the game’s released. Rainbow Six Siege is scheduled for release December 1st, 2015 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Stay tuned for more updates!
