Lately, Sony published the PlayStation VR space requirements through a pamphlet which highlights some necessary numbers required for the appropriate space while playing a virtual-reality game.
The excerpts from the new information revealed by Sony suggests that the players will need clear space of about 60 square feet to use the PS VR and the players must remain seated while playing the game ‘whenever possible’. The PlayStation Camera which is necessary for the PS VR requires a cleared area of around 9.8 feet x 6.2 feet.
Have a look at the sales brochure posted on the IMGUR;
The brochure mentions that the players must limit its use within the play area.
“Clear an area larger than the Play Area of all obstacles before using PS VR and remain seated whenever possible. If the application requires you to stand while wearing the VR headset, follow the application instructions carefully, and maintain awareness of your surroundings.“
It also confirms that some PS VR games will require PlayStation Move controllers, while the rest will be working fine with the standard DualShock 4 controller. Furthermore, the PS VR headset allows the players to wear the device over glasses. Earlier, we reported about the PS VR Cinematic Mode, which will allow users to play 2D games and videos on a big virtual screen using the device.
The PS VR is set for launch on October 13th with a price tag of $399. It won’t include a camera, which is required for running the VR headset, though it can be purchased separately, costing $60. Stay tuned for more updates!
