According to the CEO of GameStop, first VR gaming headset will be launching this fall. CEO J. Paul Raines during his recent interview with the FOX news stated that Sony’s Project Morpheus (PlayStation VR) is to be released this fall.

PlayStation VR Coming This Fall – GameStop CEO

It appears that the word came accidentally from him during the interview when asked about the release of VR headsets from different makers that will be coming sometime this year. No specific release date is announced yet by most of the companies, although we heard that the Oculus Rift VR will be released on 28th March.

You can check the wordings of Paul Raines from the interview below, between 3:30-3:40.

“We are right now preparing for the launches of the major VR products, so we’re in discussions with Oculus, with HTC Vive and with Sony.

Its a big launch, we’re getting ready for it, we will launch the Sony product this fall, and we are in discussions with the other two players.”

It was assumed that the PS4 VR might be released in Q1 of 2016, then it shifted to April and now this statement coming from an authentic source hints a small delay in the release. By then, we might have some more VR supported games.

We are still untold about the price of Sony’s VR headset. Stay tuned for more updates!
