The sales of leading gaming console from Sony Computer Entertainment, PlayStation 4 have crossed 25.3 million mark since the launch of PlayStation 4 globally, which is double of Xbox One and Xbox 360 units sold. PlayStation 4 made record breaking sales in less than two years as compared with the previous top selling console, PS2 which took more than 2 years to sell 20 million units.

It has been now confirmed from the latest financial data revealed by Sony and Microsoft. As per the reports, Sony has managed to sell over 3 million units of PS4 in the first quarter of 2015. The period ended June 30 and as compared to the sales of the previous fiscal year, where Sony had sold over 2.7 million units of PS4, which shows that the gaming community still loves PS4 as compared to the other consoles in the market.

 On the other hand, Microsoft revealed that the income of Xbox Platform has increased till $86 million, contributing up to 10% increase. Microsoft revealed that it had shipped over 1.4 million consoles in the fourth quarter, as compared with the last year’s 1.1 million.

Sony believes that it expects to sell around 16.5 million PS4 consoles between April 2015 to March 2016, which means that by March 2016, Sony will be able to sell about 38.8 million units of PS4. According to Sony, the gross income was $14.8 billion, with an operating income of $794 million.
