Seeking to attract new players in response to the growing popularity of its rival, Fortnite, Valve and the PUBG Corporation studio announced a 33% discount for the first time for Playerunknown Battlegrounds, from today until July 5.

“PUBG” is currently one of the most popular online games around. It made more than $700 million USD last year alone, according to market research company SuperData. Back in March, Valve founder Gabe Newell said it was the third best-selling game on Steam.

Apart from sales, Bluehole also announced that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has already surpassed the 50 million copies sold worldwide for the PC and Xbox One platforms. In addition, along with this large sales figure, the developer studio also revealed another important figure and is that the game already has more than 400 million active users, a figure that, as you can easily check, does not match the units sold.

This is because the other 350 million players that do not come from the Xbox One or PC platforms belong to the mobile version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, which is available for download on iOS and Android. While it is true that we do not know with certainty what parameter they follow to determine that a player is active, it is known that around 84 million users are active in the game (on all platforms, including mobile) on a daily basis.
