Xolo unveiled its HIVE UI  which will be running on its new smartphone –XOLO 8X-1000 . The UI has been designed at the company’s software design centre at Bangalore and the new device is touted as “Made in India, Made for India” platform.

It has a price tag of Rs 13,999 and the device will be available in India from the next week. The new device will run Kitkat 4.4.4. It has a 2 GB ram with 1.4 GHz true octa-core processor and 16GB internal storage that can be expended upto 32GB with microSD card . It has a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 that offers a pixel density of 294ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Now coming to the camera. It has a 8MP rear camera with LED flash and Exmor R Sensor camera , the front snapper is 2MP. Camera features are f/2.0 aperture, 1.4 micron, flash support Scene detection & tuning, High Dynamic Range (HDR), Low Light enhancement, Face recognition, Vertical & Horizontal Panorama capture, Geo tagging, Face beautification Smile detection, Gesture detection and Live filters.

For connectivity it has 3g, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB and GPRS/EDGE. The smartphone is powered by a 1920mAh battery for which the company has claimed that it delivers upto 352 hrs of standby time and 11 hrs of talk time (in 2g networks). This device has a measurement of 140x70x7.9mm.
