Today NVIDIA introduced a new GeForce Game Ready driver that allows lovers of Virtual Reality to get ready for the expected Half-Life: Alyx. This drivers also enable a new version of NVIDIA DLSS 2.0 for Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries and Control, while offering the best gaming experience to gamers playing Resident Evil 3 and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint.

DLSS 2.0 is based on the new and improved deep learning neural network, which can greatly increase the frame rate of the game, while generating more beautiful and sharp images.

Based on the original version, the main changes of DLSS 2.0 are:

-Excellent image quality

DLSS 2.0 can provide image quality equivalent to the original resolution when rendering pixels with 1/4 to 1/2 resolution, because it uses a new time feedback technology, which can obtain clear image details while improving the frame and frame stability.

-Excellent scalability for different RTX graphics cards and resolutions

The new AI network also use Tensor Cores core more efficiently, which is twice as fast as before, and eliminates previous restrictions on graphics cards, settings, and resolution.

-A network for all games

The original DLSS required separate training of the AI network for each new game, which was time-consuming. DLSS 2.0 uses non-limited game content for training, thus providing a universal network that can cross games, which can be more convenient and faster Integrated in the game.

-Customization options

DLSS 2.0 provides three different image quality modes: quality mode, balanced mode, and performance mode. They can control the internal rendering resolution of the game, and the performance mode can achieve up to 4 times the super resolution, that is, from 1080p to 4K.

For game support, Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries, Control, Deliver Us The Moon, Wolfenstein: Youngblood will embrace NVIDIA DLSS 2.0. Apart from these games, one of the world’s most popular game engines, Unreal 4 will also support DLSS 2.0.

At the same time, NVIDIA released the GeForce 445.75 official graphics card drivers, which supports DLSS 2.0 for Robot Warrior 5 and Control.

If we talk about performance, then in Robot 5: Mercenary the performance is increased from 30% to 75%, while maintaining the same image quality, and in some cases, even improved image quality.

Control will also welcome The Foundation expansion pack and a game patch on March 26. The update will add DLSS 2.0, which can significantly improve the image quality compared to the old version with a performance increase of up to 75%.
