In July of last year we announced that NVIDIA is recalling the great majority of its Tablet Shield, which were affected by a battery that could catch fire.

More than 90,000 tablets have been affected and NVIDIA is not able to keep pace with the replacement. The company has sent an email to some users for apologizing the delay in claiming the refund within place has gone 2-4 weeks, but users already complain reporting on the official forums that have been waiting more than five weeks by the substitution.

Dear NVIDIA tablet owner,

We apologize for the delay in sending your replacement SHIELD Tablet.

We are fulfilling claims as quickly as we can, in the order in which they were received. In some cases, we are running behind our target delivery of 2-4 weeks. We’re doing everything we can to accelerate the schedule.

We’ll notify you when your unit ships. In the meantime, should you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected]

Thanks for your patience.
