At this year’s GDC NVIDIA brings a monster – which was in the air of rumors for a very long time, namely GTX Titan X graphics card actually unveiled at GDC 2015 conference. At that time NVIDIA on the left hand have not disclosed the detailed specifications of the GTX Titan X. Today the official specifications of NVIDIA Geforce GTX Titan X have been revealed by foregin media Videocardz.com. Heart of the card is the BIG Maxwell GM200 GPU Core which is an absolute beast with 3072 CUDA cores.
NVIDIA Geforce GTX TITAN X is launching in 24 Hours
The TITAN-X houses the GM200 core, which is the successor of the GM204; and fondly referred to as big daddy Maxwell by green fans. One of the major problems with the GM204 core was the lack of FP64 performance and if the GM200 can successfully address that, the card will become a worthy successor to the GK110 based Titan-original. Here are the details spilled with the irregularity highlighted with a reference mark:
At last, taking a gander at the leaked block diagram we can make an informed speculation that a cut-down GM200 is going to have 20 SMMs and 2560 CUDA Cores. These could offer in a future GTX 980Ti or not show up whatsoever. I know beyond all doubt there are engineering samples of cut-GM200 coasting around, however, whether they see the light of large scale manufacturing stays to be seen.
