The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 is coming increasingly in larger steps and we learn further details on it. This time we have the 3Dmark 11 results of its performance.

GeForce GTX 960 GPU is based on Maxwell GM206 with 1024 CUDA cores, 64 TMUs units (GPU-Z readings are wrong) and 32 ROP units. In addition to the on-board include 2GB of GDDR5 memory with 128-bit interface. Standard frequency is not yet known, but is likely to be somewhat higher than we suspected – 1228 MHz (1291 MHz Boost Mode 2.0) and 7010 MHz for the memory frequency.

Reference version features a DVI-I, HDMI 2.0 and three DisplayPort 1.2. Its proper operation is required to connect the 6-pin power plug and power consumption is 120 W. Here we have a comparison specifications chart of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 with kepler GTX 760 and Maxwell GM204 based GTX 970.

One of the forum members at PCEVA  showed the unofficial results the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 performance in conjunction with Intel Core i7-4770K (4.5 GHz). So how it performs?

In the 3DMark 11 benchmark it has acquired 9960 points in Performance mode and 3321 points in the Extreme mode. These results can be compared to competing Radeon R9 285 or R9 280x.

In the latest 3DMark Fire Strike it has obtained 6636 points, 3483 points in the Fire Strike Extreme mode and 1087 points in the Fire Strike Ultra mode. Also, these results can be compared to competing models Radeon R9 285 and R9 280x.

Tested card is turned up pretty well, because the core speed was able to pick up to almost 1400 MHz and 8200 MHz memory. The result is higher productivity by about 13% (7509 points in 3DMark Fire Strike)

We remind you that the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 is rumored to debut on January 22 and its price will be $ 199. Are you interested in buying this model?
