All signs in the heavens and the earth indicate that the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 is coming this month. Previously the foreign media have also leaked some pictures of MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 2G.

GeForce GTX 960 GPU is based on Maxwell GM206, whose surface/area is noticeably smaller than the chip used in models GM204 GeForce GTX 970/980 (below you can find a picture comparing the two GPU). Till now after lots of rumors specifications are coming at some point. According to the current information NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 have 1024 or 1028 CUDA cores. In addition, the on board included 2GB of GDDR5 memory with 128-bit interface. The standard frequencies would be around 1178 MHz core clock and 7010MHz memory frequency.

Recently there have been rumors of the three versions of the NVIDIA GTX 960. Although there is still no official information which is indicating such outcomes, but according to the current situation most probable the market will only see the debut of one GeForce GTX 960.

On the web, you can also find the websites who start pre-ordering NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 from partner companies such as ASUS and Galax. By looking at these pre-orders GPUs we can estimate that Asus is planning to release two models, DirectCU II cooling and Strix version. On the other hand Galax is working on a standard version with 1178 core clock and 7010MHz memory frequency.

Until now the suspected release date of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 is January 22. Some sources also point to an earlier date –  allegedly appear on January 15.
