The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 is the Graphics card from green camp which has putt many players on a waiting mode, lots of players are waiting for this graphics card after seeing the superior performance of Maxwell GM204 GPU core Graphics cards GTX 980 and GTX 970. Both cards have won many hearts in terms of performance and less power consumption. Now budget party eyes are on little lighter NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960, according to several reports it will be priced between $250-$300. The latest news related to this bad boy is coming from foregin media GDM.OR.JP, according to them NVIDIA is going to launch its budget friendly GeForce GTX 960 graphics card on 22nd January 2015. Well, for now this is the alleged date, and there are lots of chances that it might be bounced as it’s not based on official reports. But if we conclude all the rumors it will be available from the January of next year.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 Launch Alleged On 22nd January 2015, Priced around $200
Apart from launching date media has also broke the price of this candy, and the price might put some fire to their competitor. And I’m sure if this news is true, then it will disrupt AMD’s desktop share of their latest Radeon cards in the sub $250 market. There is no doubt AMD is doing a good job when you come to better VFM they are offering lots of Graphics cards in the budget which are good enough to entertain budget party but you will also love words which I’m going to share with you. The source reports a price range of about 25,000 YEN (Japanese). Convert that to US exchange rates and that gives a price of just $209.99 US. So we can say that it will disturb AMD R9 280x and R9 285 from AMD lineup. For NVIDIA it will decrease the interest of GTX 970 as well.
The third and the last thing which has been leaked by foreign media is that NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 will feature SINGLE 6-Pin power connector through which it will draw power. That means a power draw of 150W when taking in consideration the PCI-E slot connector too. It is possible for now if we see the performance and power consumption of the GTX 980. If you ask me for the power consumption after seeing all the rumors I will conclude by saying that, the Thermal power design would between 110-120Wats.
If we talk about the specifications there are two solid news on it first one is from Sweclockers who claimed that, the card will use GM206 core, memory bandwidth will be reduced from GM204’s 256bit to 128bit, memory capacity of 2GB GDDR5, unknown frequency and the card is comparable to GM206 core GTX 770. The other news on the specification is from the shipping database of Zauba (I’m also on that side), from the leaked inventory entry we can see that, the GTX 960 and GTX 970 has the same 256Bit memory interface and 4GB of GDDR5 memory, the core frequency 993MHz, 6008MHz memory, video output interface is a dual-DVI, HDMI and DP.
