It is not for the first time that NVIDIA is behind the problems encountered in a game through its technology GameWorks. Previously, Assassin’s Creed Unity, WatchDogs, Batman: Arkham Knight, The Witcher 3 and many more titles became the victim of this technology and now another game has joined this race, we are talking about newly launched Gears of War: Ultimate Edition.

NVIDIA GameWorks is responsible for the Graphics bugs/glitches in Gears of War: Ultimate Edition

AMD already warned that “NVIDIA GameWorks is harmful to the PC industry,” a technology that seems more focused to harm the players who are looking forward to improve the graphics of the game, because in reality these games are castrated and graphical enhancements that exclusively focused for the NVIDIA hardware not only damage the performance of AMD graphics card, but the company itself.

After the dismal performance of Gears Of War: Ultimate Edition on both AMD and NVIDIA graphics card, now we know that the NVIDIA GameWorks technology is behind all this, especially main culprit of visual aberrations that are present in the game.  GameWorks has been in the debate for a long time, and this new case further aggravates the consequences of its use in new games, something described as “sabotage in hardware performance ” by AMD and cataloged by many developers as a “unusable technology”.

Below you can see the PC graphics setting of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, menu offers a configuration “Ambient Occlusion” but actually this technology is NVIDIA HBAO + which has been given a generic label, something quite unusual and demonstrating the lack of transparency of Microsoft, as in other games opposite happens, it is labeled as HBAO +. In order to solve the graphics bugs/glitches it is as easy as disable Ambient Occlusion and the problem is solved, but that’s only the tip of the Iceberg.

It has been discovered that you can further enhance the performance of the game, all you have to do is to open the config folder (C: \ ProgramFiles \ WindowsApps \ Microsoft.DeltaPC_1.6.0.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe \ Engine \ Config)  where you can also disable the proprietary technology “NVIDIA PhysX” (bDisablePhysXHardwareSupport = False”). NVIDIA PhysX is disable by default and this technology is causing seriously damaging to not only the Graphics cards from AMD but also from NVIDIA.

Microsoft has not yet ruled on the matter. After this new information, NVIDIA has also something to explain.

I FRICKING CALLED IT! An if you are paying any attention right now. There are no reports of Mafia 3 using Nvidia gameworks.Yet if you look at the requirements. They recommend a 4 core for Intel an a high end graphics card for Nvidia. But for AMD You need a 8 core to run this game an the high end only graphics card to run the game.No one every need an 8 core an a R9 290X to run a game with base graphics. This means that the game will run poorly!

Not only that but you can probably set graphics to Low medium an High an still get the EXACT SAME FRAME RATE! Which means they system lock the frames to one setting. To give you the illusion you changing the settings makes any kind of a difference. This game will FAIL!
