CD Projekt RED is known for the famous projects such as Skyrim and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Following the game’s release last year, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt turned out to be the most successful game for the studio with multiple Game of the Year awards.
The game finally received its all of its dlcs this year and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Game of the Year Edition was also surfacing over the internet, after which the studio officially confirmed the GOTY edition and its release date which was set for August 30th for about $49.99.
Some console gamers were curious whether the studio would release an enhanced version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for the upgraded, 4K capable console from Sony, the PlayStation 4. A reddit user decided to e-mail CD Projekt RED to find out will the studio release one of the most popular game of all time for PlayStation 4 Pro and and got a reply from the studio clearly stating that they have no plans for releasing the game on PS4 Pro as they are working on other projects such as GWENT: The Witcher Card Game and Cyberpunk 2077 and want to be focused on these projects rather than remastering the previous one.
Here’s a screenshot of the response from CD Projekt RED,
Since the reveal of PlayStation 4 Pro, many famous games were confirmed for the HDR support including Battlefield 1, Watch Dogs 2, Cal of Duty Infinite Warfare, Mass Effect Andromeda and many others. Unfortunately, the players will be unable to enjoy the 4K experience of The Witcher 3, however, the game still looks beautiful on the PlayStation 4.
Its a good sign that the developers have decided to fully focus on the new projects such as Cyberpunk 2077 rather than pushing the same old game. Stay tuned for more updates!
