No Man’s Sky will be launched on August 12, three days after launch on the PlayStation 4. The reason for this is because on PC it will be a global launch, so “it is important that we do well and offer the best possible version” according to developers. Another reason for the three delays is because the game will arrive with an expected patch which is not ready yet.
