Nintendo’s forthcoming console, the Nintendo NX has been the victim of numerous leaks and rumors in the past. Un-surprisingly, the speculations around the unannounced console continue to gear up and every other day, we come across with some new reports.

Nintendo NX To Run Games at 1080p/60 FPS, Will Have 4K Streaming – Report

Previously, we saw some alleged first render photos of the console and reports of the Nintendo NX being a handheld console, supported with detachable controllers, featuring motion control and force feedback. One report claimed that the Nintendo is planning to reveal the new console on October 21st, now lets see how accurate the reports turns out to be.

However, today we have some more information about the Nintendo NX which suggest that the console will be running the games at full HD 1080p and 60 frames per second. The word was shared by reddit user FlapSnappl, who claims that his source comes from a large retailer, who managed to have access to the console’s marketing and specs related information. According to the details revealed by the source, a phrase on the poster suggests that the console is indeed a handheld one with most of the branding of Mario, indicating that Mario will be among the launch titles of the new console. Check out the details below;

Marketing

  • “Interact with your game on the go.” phrase seen on a poster.

  • Strong co-branding effort with a Mario launch title on many posters.

  • Console is currently set to launch with least 4 titles on deck.

  • Stores should be receiving demo units around February.

  • Base price point seems to be sitting at $299.99

Features and Specs

  • Games will be on cartridges

  • 4k streaming has been mentioned. – What this likely means is playback of content such as Netflix, etc. Not gameplay.

  • 1080p and 60fps are being used by the marketing teams in relation to gameplay on to the console portion. I’ve heard unconfirmed rumblings of 900p for the infamous hybrid part of the device.

It was also reported that the packaging of the Nintendo NX will be larger the one of Wii U, and the console will also be released as a bundle, with the contents being revealed later on. Last month, it was reported that the forthcoming Nintendo’s console will be using game cartridges instead of discs.

Some game developers, including Ubisoft and Bandai Namdohave announced their support for the forthcoming console. The console is confirmed for release in March 2017. Stay tuned for more updates!
