It seems like at this CES 2015 MSI is in a mood to give the tough competition to others. At CES 2015 they have released a new mini-ITX motherboard with solid specifications model MSI Z97A Gaming 6. The eye catching thing about this motherboard is first to use USB 3.1 with Type-C connector. Officially, it was disclosed during the fair Consumer Electronics Show 2015.

MSI Z97A Gaming 6: First motherboard to Use USB 3.1 Type-C Connector


The motherboard is designed for gamers and works with Intel Haswell LGA 1150 socket – for power supply here is 8-phase section. Four memory slots that support 2-channel DDR3 memory kits.

Expansion cards can be installed in three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots and four PCI-Express 2.0 x1. This design is based on the Intel Z97 chipset, which supports two SATA connectors and two SATA Express, as well as one M.2 PCI-Express.

As this motherboard is for Gamers so for the interest motherboard features Killer E2200 network card for better Multiplayer gaming experience and Audio Boost. Noteworthy is also a USB 3.1 with Type-C connector – it offers higher bandwidth and new connector can be connected in both orientations.

The manufacturer did not disclose the price and release date of this little bad boy. There are also rumors that the manufacturer is also planning to launch MSI X99A Gaming 9 ACK (LGA 2011-3) with the usual USB 3.1 ports.
