MSI Announced The Launch Of Fastest GeForce GTX 1080
In terms of specifications, the MSI GeForce GTX Gaming Z 1080 mounts the GP104-400 silicon manufactured @16nm FinFET where it hides 2560 CUDA Cores with 160 TMUs and 64 ROPs reaching impressive Base / Turbo frequency of 1771/1911 MHz (vs. 1607/1733 MHz in reference), unfortunately the speed achieved by unknown 8 GB of GDDR5X memory (10.008 MHz reference).
According to the company, this increased performance still can be tuned by the user to reach 2.00 GHz, although it is something they do not guarantee, so it depends on each GPU.
Logically, this is possible with the use of a custom PCB which sets a 10 – phase power VRM that comes to life through two PCI-Express connectors 8 + 6. Both the VRM, memories and the rest of the PCB is passively cooled by an aluminum plate that lies beneath the cooling system consists of a dense aluminum radiator pierced by three thick copper heatpipes which expelled the generated heat by a due fans. Regarding price, the MSI GeForce GTX Gaming Z 1080 is already listed in a well – known shop UK for 885 euros.
