MSI Announces Radeon R9 290X Gaming 8GB Graphics Card
The R9 290X GAMING 8G has been designed to give you a fluid and silent gaming experience that delivers you true next-Gen performance for 4K UHD resolutions and up, without sacrificing on thermals or noise. The 8Gb of VRAM is useful in gaming at 4k, as now most of the games support 4K resolution. So we can say it will help AMD to capture some market from Nvidia. The card should be equipped be Twin Frozr V for better cooling like MSI did with the Maxwell GM204 cards GTX 980/GTX 970. But MSI Radeon R9 290X Gaming 8Gb is featuring the same cooler Twin Frozr IV, consisting of a dense aluminum radiator traversed by five copper heatpipes and with a couple of fans, each one as 11 blades. The card is powered by a dual PCI-Express connectors 8 + 6 pin.
Unfortunately, MSI has not disclosed the price of the card and release date.
