A few hours after its official announcement, Warner Bros. Games and Monolith Productions revealed the minimum and recommended PC system requirements to enjoy the Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor sequel, titled Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War PC System Requirements Released

Like Shadow of Mordor, it seems that Monolith has done a good job with optimization, especially as far as the graphics card is concerned. The minimum 8GB of RAM in 2017 should come as no surprise, although the CPU minimum may worry some with past-generation processors, such as the Phenom II X4 from AMD. Surely there will be more details on the list of supported processors soon.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War Minimum System Requirements:

    • OS: Windows 7 SP1 with the Platform Update for Windows 7
    • Processor: Intel i5- 2550K, 3.4 GHz
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Video Card: GeForce 670 | Radeon HD 7950
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Network: Broadband Internet connection
    • Disk space: 60 GB

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War Recommended System Requirements:

    • OS: Windows 10 version 14393.102 or higher required
    • Processor: Intel Core i7-3770, 3.4 GHz
    • Memory: 16 GB RAM
    • Video Card: GeForce 970 or GeForce 1060 | Radeon R9 290X or Radeon RX 480
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Network: Broadband Internet connection
    • Disk space: 60 GB

The updated Nemesis System adds a new feature called “Followers“, which are characters that will add completely new stories of loyalty, revenge and betrayal. The Nemesis System of the first game allowed to remind the enemies every encounter with the player. Also, enemies have different personalities.

Above all, Monolith promises a more “personal, rich and great” world for Shadow of War. Players can expect to see “epic heroes and villains” as well as “classic places, original enemies, more personalities and a host of new characters with untold stories.”

Middle-earth: Shadow of War will be released on August 22 in North America and August 25 in Europe for PC (Steam and Windows 10), Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro. Microsoft also commented that the title will be available for Project Scorpio. Microsoft confirmed that Shadow of War will be an Xbox Play Anywhere title for Xbox One and Windows, so progress will be saved on both platforms and buying the game on one of them is now automatically available on both platforms.
