Few hours on the official Twitter account of Phil Spencer (chief of the division of Xbox and Microsoft studies) someone asked about when would they show the new interface of Windows 10 running on Xbox One, to which Spencer responded.

“I’ll be focusing more on what we are doing on Win10 in January, it’s time for us to talk about gaming on Windows”

According to a Blogging Windows, Windows 10 event will be held on January 21 at the Microsoft campus in Redmond. Spencer along with senior developers Operating Systems Group, including Terry Myerson and Joe Belfiore, will be present to discuss the latest iteration of Windows.

The event will be broadcast live and it is expected that Microsoft will reveal more details on DirectX 12 and PC gaming.

Will this be the long awaited announcement promised by Spencer to PC users early in 2014? When Phil Spencer said that, “Microsoft is working on a new approach to Windows and PC gaming, “ at GDC 2014.
