General Manager for Xbox Games Marketing, Aaron Greenberg from the blog post has confirmed that the Microsoft won’t be hosting a press conference during this year’s Gamescom event. And so is the case with rival, Sony.
Microsoft, Sony Plans to Skip Press Conference at Gamescom 2016
The event takes place every year and the company hosts a press conference with multiple announces and reveals. Anyhow, the company has decided to skip the press conference and instead, hold Xbox Fanfest for the Xbox fans during the event. The Fanfest will allow Xbox gamers to play some of the most anti-cipated games which are set for release later this year and during early 2017 such as Gears of War 4, Halo Wars 2, ReCore, Sea of Thieves, and Forza Horizon 3.
Soon after the announcement by Microsoft, Sony;s representative have also announced that “there will be no PlayStation conference at Gamescom”. The news was officially posted by French website Juex Video after they spoke with PlayStation France. It appears that the things are pretty much similar with Sony just like last year, when they decided not to host any press conference.
It was also reported that the company might ”show off” some of the PlayStation 4 games. Sony will be present at Tokyo Game Show and Playstation Experience, which will take place later this year. Gamescom 2016 will start from August 16th, running till the 21st. Stay tuned for more updates!
