Microsoft has officially completed the acquisition of Bethesda Softworks parent company, ZeniMax Media for $7.5 billion.
The acquisition brings eight new studios under Microsoft ownership, including Bethesda Game Studios, id Software, ZeniMax Online Studios, Arkane Studios, MachineGames, Tango Gameworks, Alpha Dog Studios, and Roundhouse Studios, and a host of popular IP’s including DOOM, The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and more.
“With the addition of Bethesda’s creative teams, players should know that Xbox, PC and Game Pass consoles will be the best place to experience new Bethesda games, including some new titles in the future that will be exclusive to Xbox players. and PC . ”said Xbox boss Phil Spencer in an Xbox Wire post .

Microsoft will share more about what’s next for its teams later in 2021. In the meantime, additional games from Bethesda Softworks will hit Xbox Game Pass later this week. More details will be released soon.
Bethesda will now be run as a separate business at Microsoft, with its existing leadership. This is the same approach Microsoft has used for its recent big acquisitions, including Mojang, LinkedIn, and GitHub.
