Yesterday, we reported that the Metro 2035 will be released next year, following the reveal from the official Metro website. It appears that the news wasn’t true as some hours later, the publisher announced that the Metro 2035 will not be released in 2017.
Apparently, someone mis-reported the facts regarding the game as it is indeed the final chapter in the Metro series and the books as well and the developers are trying to expand the story and deliver one of the best experience. But it won’t be happening next year. Here’s an update from the official page of Deep Silver studios, publisher of Metro franchise.
As the exclusive rights holder to video games set in the Metro 2033 universe, Deep Silver has ambitious plans for the hugely successful Metro series. But just to manage our fans’ expectations – releasing the next Metro game in 2017 is not one of them.
When we have more news to share, we will. Thank you for your patience.
Undoubtedly, the developer A4 Games are working on the new and final Metro game. Previous games in the franchise got very well fans and critical reception, but both of them didn’t contain an exact storyline as mentioned in the book and it appears that the third and final installment to the franchise will also meet the similar fate.
After the events of Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light, Metro 2035 is the final part of the trilogy of Artyom and its people. It will be an independent story that can be read without knowing the previous games in the series and books, but for those who have followed the story from the beginning, Metro 2035 crown the saga in a unique way. Stay tuned for more updates!
