Konami recently released the patch 1.03 for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The update is currently available for the PlayStation 4. The new update fixes the bug that used to corrupt your save data progress, mainly on two missions.

The update 1.03 on the PS4 consumes around 435 MB of disk space and gives a big relief of playing MGS5 without losing your complete progress. The save bug while playing as Quiet was reported at the missions 29 and 42. Check out the patch notes of this new update below:

  • Fixed an issue where under specific conditions, the game halts progression in the black screens displayed after clearing Mission 29 and Mission 42.
  • Fixed the issue where once the prior issue is triggered, the save data goes directly to the black screen and game progression is halted.
  • Fixed the issue where using the selection controls during the tutorial when first buying an FOB the game halted progression.

Meanwhile, the Konami promised to release this update on the rest of the platforms like PC, Xbox One and previous gen consoles. Whereas the PC gamers also got something to cheer as a new update version 1.005 is out now for PC and it backs up your save game. See the patch note below:

  • Save Data is backed up now. When the save data can’t be read from Steam Cloud, the backup save data will be now used.
