According to advertisement by Konami on various Japanese platforms, it’s now been confirmed that the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is shipped with over 3 Million units worldwide, almost in a week.

The Japanese description says: ‘Cumulative worldwide shipments: three million copies breakthrough.’

The game was released on September 1st globally for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. The Phantom Pain levels the worldwide launch sales record of Metal Gear Solid VI: Guns of the Patriots, which was released for PlayStation 3 only, back in 2008. But as compared with Metal Gear Solid VI, the sales record of the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is comparatively lower because despite launching on previous and current generation hardwares, it couldn’t outperform the MGS4: Guns of the Patriots.

Anyhow, we will see the actual sales of The Phantom Pain in coming weeks as its bit early to conclude and compare sales at this moment. The game received very positive reviews from fans as well as critics on almost every platform.
