Recently, Konami announced the first fiscal report of 1st quarter 2016 which shows an increase in the company’s profit due to more sales of Metal Gear Solid games.
Metal Gear Solid Franchise Sold Over 49 Million Copies – Konami
Konami’s first fiscal quarter for the year 2016 ended today on June 30th, while the financial report mentions the increase in revenue, a little bit decrease in overall revenue as compared with last year and units of Metal Gear Solid series sold worldwide.
According to the Konami, revenue for the period is 49.4 billion yen ($481.5 million) which is around 3.5 percent down, while the operating profit was reported 9.1 billion yen ($88.7 million) which is around 40.2 percent up, based upon year-on-year comparison.
The report also mentioned that the sales of famous action Metal Gear Solid series have surpassed over 49.2 million copies, which is indeed a milestone for the company. While the company didn’t discuss more about the upcoming projects, but two days ago Metal Gear Solid 5: Definitive Ex was spotted on the Amazon, which was soon removed also indicates that the studio may be planning to work on either a new edition for the game or any downloadable content.
